5 & dime industries

tagline:
5 & dime industries: unique and useful urbanware for the home

backgrounder:
My interest in secondhand goods began when I was still in grade school and the best shopping experience could be found at the local college flea markets. Finding that I could stretch my allowance dollars further there led me to fall in love with the wide array of treasures and utterly unique objects awaiting my efforts.

After obtaining a degree in Studio Art from UC Berkeley, I entered into Internet related fields professionally but continued to lurk at the Bay Area Flea markets hunting down items for my small home and friends.

When the opportunity arose to hunt and gather unique secondhand goods professionally, I jumped at the chance. Thus, 5 & Dime Industries was born.

My current obsessions run from vintage kitchenware and bar ware to anything kitchy, humorous, and useful. Humor plays a big part of my selection, as fussy serious items seem better suited to others. City living inspires me to find useful, small items that fit in with the apartments and smaller homes available in the San Francisco Bay area.

This website serves as a showcase of recently found objects available for sale at my space in Gilman Salvage. I'm also available to hunt for particular pieces or styles of items as I run across all sorts of items in my travels.

Thank you,
Emily
